On August 26, 2026, a severe mudslide struck near the Gyirong Port in Nepal, devastating Sole Bajar village in Bidur-7, Nuwakot District, the hometown of Dhan Bahadur, a local Nepalese employee of the project department. The village, once nestled between mountains and a river with neatly arranged houses, was buried under mud and sand. Most of the houses, roads and bridges were destroyed, leaving the entire valley in ruins.

At the time of the disaster, Dhan Bahadur was working at the project site and fortunately survived. However, six of his family members lost their lives, and his house was also engulfed by the mudslide. The sudden tragedy plunged him and his colleagues into deep grief.

Upon learning of the situation, the project department immediately launched a donation drive. Staff members expressed their concern and sympathy, and actively contributed money to help ease Dhan Bahadur's financial burden and offer him some warmth. After the donations were collected, the project department sent Yang Jie as its representative to Nepal to attend the memorial ceremony for Dhan Bahadur's departed loved ones and personally hand over all the donations to Dhan Bahadur.

Though natural disasters are merciless, human compassion shines through. This donation activity not only demonstrated the project department's care for its employees, but also conveyed a sense of social responsibility and the spirit of standing together to overcome difficulties.
